When I was watching some reels on Instagram, I came across the same kind of trend over and over again. That was Jisoo flower hook step. Each and every girl dressed in those cute mini dresses and trying to do the hook step. That made me wonder why K-pop has become so much popular worldwide.

So, I watched a bunch of K-pop videos and I was already their fan! So, I made a little analysis of what makes their choreography so unique and why it is trending a lightning speed.

Groovy music and deep-meaning lyrics
K-pop is all about their unique and groovy music. The simple feet tapping beats make them everyone’s favorite. The lyrics are mostly Korean. However, every lyric has a deep meaning and now there are a few songs like Dynamite, butter, and Permission to Dance which are in English. That is why, The songs are so cool and resonate with the youth.
K-pop is equal to amazing dance Formations
I always feel that I had six more friends and I could recreate the dance formations of Dynamite by BTS! Their dance formations are simply eye-catching and keep us engaged throughout the song. I think that is a major secret behind their unique choreography.
Costumes
K-pop’s other uniqueness is it’s Oh! so cute! costumes. The cute dresses of BLACKPINK or a combination of retro and formal clothes worn by BTS have mesmerized youth around the globe.
I think they put a lot of effort into the costumes along with choreography. The Flower ring worn by Jisoo is one classic example of a costume that she not only wears but also uses as a prop during the hook step.
Easy yet unique hook step
K-pop knows its audience. They know that youth is into social media and make content on different platforms. So, they make sure even though the remaining choreography is complex or full of formations, the hook steps are easy and can be done solo without co-dancers.
Hence K pop made a mind-blowing marketing strategy to reach everyone’s mobile phone and ultimately into everyone’s heart.

We all know that any dance is a combination of steps and expressions. However, K-pop is more of steps rather than expressions. They keep very simple expressions and they emphasize more on their dance steps and that is what makes them unique.
