We have seen the Millennials and Gen Z’s always navigating the web for hair care tips. However, we have forgotten our grandma’s bag of remedies for numerous physical problems. As dancers, caring for our hair is a very essential part of our routine.
So, let us revise and unveil the grandma’s bag of all her secrets for best hair care tips.
Before starting, I just want to take a moment to thank all my lovely Newsletter Subscribers who showered their love and helped me to write more and Share my experiences. But If you haven’t, Here the Link.
Embrace your Hair
I have always been complimented for my healthy and long hair. I thank my genes for all the compliments, but was I happy with my hair? No! I always liked waves and curls. It is a human tendency to not appreciate what you have. Trying to get other hair types can completely damage your hair with harsh chemicals and harmful treatments.
So, embracing your hair brings a profound sense of beauty, making you feel like the most radiant person in the world.
Hair cutting is a sin for dancers
It is a myth that a dancer should not cut her hair. Especially a classical dancer. As tying hair extensions becomes challenging with short hair. However, I would recommend you trim your strands at least once every year. Trimming your hair avoids split ends, keeps your hair frizz free and reduces knots and enhances growth. Moreover, regular trimming your hair gives a good structure to your face as well as hair.
So, without wasting any more time, book your salon appointment and get your strands cut.
Is Hair Oiling necessary?
We all have heard from our mother and grandmother that oiling our hair gives n nutrition to the hair and keeps you away from hairfall. The benefits come not from the hair oil itself, but from the massage. Regardless of which hair oil you use, it is necessary to understand how to understand the manoeuvres of massaging.
A good massage for your scalp helps to stimulate the scalp and increase blood circulation, that accelerates your hair growth and prevents hair fall.
Therefore, whichever hair oil you pick, make it a little lukewarm and then gently massage your scalp.
Hair care products
The market is saturated with a wide array of hair care products. So, it is a dilemma as to which product to pick. Shampoos, Conditioners, sprays, Dyes, serums, hair masks, have spiked in the beauty industry. Surprisingly, I don’t use too many products as they can ultimately harm my hair.
However, a regular wash twice a week with a mild shampoo and a conditioner is more than enough for hair care.I always dilute the shampoo with lukewarm water to avoid direct contact with harmful chemicals with the scalp.
Most people have the misconception that you should never apply shampoo to your scalp. But, Most of the dirt and dust gets deposited into our scalp so it is mandatory to apply shampoo to your scalp.
Other Conditioning
My secret to maintaining healthy hair is applying henna once a month. Applying henna not only gives you a natural dye to your grey strands, but also provides a good conditioning with its ayurvedic benefits. It allows you to soften your frizzy and rough strands. Regular application of henna is a great way to transform your lifeless hair into a healthy one.
